 Facebook Tips 

Facebook can be a powerful tool to both promote LIVE UNITED Give United Day and show how your company is dedicated to our community. As a Match Sponsor, you have a Facebook audience that will reach new people and companies that may be interested in giving on LIVE UNITED Give United Day! Plus, posting about LIVE UNITED Give United Day on Facebook shows that you are a company that cares about the place where you live, work and do business. It's a win-win! Below is a list of ways you can begin engaging your community for LIVE UNITED Give United Day!

Talk it up! Post why you are supporting LIVE UNITED Give United Day as a Match Sponsor and share personal stories about your connection to United Way of Cass-Clay. Have you or someone in your company been a volunteer? Experienced United Way's work first hand as Board Member, committee volunteer, etc? Talk about your experience and from your perspective why you love United Way. 

Create a conversation: Ask your followers questions to engage them in dialogue. Remember to keep posts brief! 

Tag, tag, tag! A great way to expand your reach is to tag other people and companies. Tag team members or employees, or tag other companies you partner with - this creates more visibility and invites more people and pages into the conversation. 

Focus on the match: A great motivator to inspire people to give is to share that all donations up to $50,000 will be matched. As a Match Sponsor, you helped to make this possible! 

Tell everyone why LIVE UNITED Give United Day is making a difference in your community. Be sure to tell people what it is all about. Why is your company passionate about preventing homelessness for children and families?  Let them know how they can donate and ask them to spread the word as well. 

Join the LIVE UNITED Give United Day Facebook event and invite others, too! Invite your network to be part of the LIVE UNITED Give United Day Facebook event so that they can be reminded as the day gets closer and see who else is participating. Also, tell people to invite others. Don't know who to invite? Ask your team mates and employees to invite one another, friends, etc. Or invite your customers, clients, colleagues. 

Facebook Live: Doing a Facebook Live video is a powerful way to connect with your audience or followers in real time. When broadcasting live, your community and followers have the opportunity to join the conversation and ask questions, comment, react or just follow along in real time. Plan a time for leadership from your company to go Live on Facebook to talk about LIVE UNITED Give United Day - no script is required - be authentic and conversational - talk about why your company is participating and what it means to the community.

Tell your followers that you are a part of LIVE UNITED Give United Day. Tell your followers why preventing homelessness in our community is important to your company. Share why your company supports United Way and talk about your company's connection to United Way.  Use some of the suggested tweets provided below.

Use #hashtags and @handles. Whenever you share information include the @UnitedWayFargo handle and #LIVEUNITEDGiveUnited to further spread the word. Show that you are a part of LIVE UNITED Give United Day by using the hashtag in all of your tweets.

Don’t just follow! Become a part of the conversation. Let people know that your company truly cares about this effort. Respond to tweets like you are holding a conversation. You never know where this may lead.

Share pictures, videos and interesting content. Twitter is not just about your ‘words’. Pictures and videos draw people in, and shows that you are part of a community focused on making lasting change. Perhaps you have a pohoto of your employees wearing LIVE UNITED shirts, or a photo of employees volunteering for United Way, or a photo of members of your leadership team at a United Way event - share photos of your employees and teammates and how they LIVE UNITED.

Instagram Tips

Instagram is great for visual communication! It's an impactful way to show how your company cares about your local community. Take advantage of the ability to communicate with your clients, audiences, supporters, with impactful images and catchy captions. Every Instagram post has the ability to inspire others to give on LIVE UNITED Give United Day!

Connect your Instagram and Facebook accounts. Make sure that your Instagram posts are automatically posted on Facebook. Connecting Facebook and Instagram harnesses the power of both social media platforms at once and allows you to reach a wider audience.

Find powerful images. People-centric, positive images will help you draw in new followers. Focus on sharing images that speak to your organization’s mission and your target audience. Canva.com is a great way to take your own photographs or a stock image to the next level. If you want to include important dates, statistics, or quotes, Canva lets you add text right on top of the image as well as provides you with a suite of photo editing tools.

Socialize! Like other supporters’ posts, and consider re-sharing posts that stand out and speak to your cause. Showcasing the stories and individuals that propel the mission of LIVE UNITED Give United Day will help you gain more followers, recognition, and traction in advance of LIVE UNITED Give United Day.

Use #LIVEUNITEDGiveUnited, in addition to other creative hashtags. 2-3 hashtags per post is the sweet spot. Start with #LIVEUNITEDGiveUnitedDay and add other hashtags that coincide with yourcompany's brand. Some ideas are #giveback #givewhereyoulive #helpingourlocalcommunity.
